Juneau is a city which celebrates the arts. We have many local theatre, music and art groups right here in town. This year the Alaska Folk Festival took place April 7-13 in town. For many local residents the Folk Festival is a sign that spring is near. It is a not to be missed event which showcases the many talents that are in the state. While there are many people who complain about the lack of roads in Juneau, I am very fond of the few that we do actually have. Every Sunday afternoon my husband, son and I take the time to get out of the house and enjoy the scenery that is so splendid in Southeast Alaska.

My family is very active and we choose to live in Juneau because the outdoors is our backyard. It is a usual Saturday for my husband, son and I. We grab a couple of bottles of water, rain gear (yes, we live in a rainforest) and the camera. You never leave home without the camera. There is always something worthy of photographing in Alaska.
